Ian Machado Garry will face Shavkat Rakhmonov in a welterweight title eliminator at UFC 310 on Dec. 7. The Irishman is fully confident he will secure victory over his undefeated opponent, and he will look to emulate the dominance displayed by Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones should he win gold down the line.
Adesanya has been arguably the greatest UFC champion since Jones' light heavyweight title reign. 'The Future' is eager to replicate their respective title runs with his own at 170 pounds. He faces the man many believed would become welterweight champion in his upcoming fight.
Rakhmonov enters UFC 310 at 18-0, while Machado Garry holds an undefeated record of his own at 15-0.
The Dublin native sat down infront of the media ahead of his title eliminator clash, and shared his future fighting plans, saying:

"You've got some amazing guys coming up, all young, all hungry, all trying to prove how good they are. It's gonna be exciting when I'm sat there with the belt wrapped around my waist going, 'You next, then you, then you, then you.' And I'm going to do what [Georges St-Pierre], I'm gonna do what Jon Jones has done. I'm going to do what Israel Adesanya has done. I'm going to dominate the division for a long, long time."

Israel Adesanya predicts Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Ian Machado Garry at UFC 310
UFC 310 will feature a flyweight title fight in the main event between Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Asakura, while Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Machado Garry go to war in the co-main event.
The welterweight matchup features two of the division's best talents, with both fighters having displayed well-rounded skillsets in their time with the UFC.
Ahead of the bout, former two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya shared his breakdown for the co-main event, saying on his YouTube channel:
"[Machado Garry] is going to be careful, use that jab, use the teep. Keep Shavkat away. And Shavkat I think, just don't bite on the feints if he wants to try and go after Ian. I think Ian is going to have the advantage striking."
He continued:
"I'm going to go with Ian Garry, I think it's going to decision. But if Shavkat wins, I think he's probably going to submit Ian. But I'm going to put my money on Ian."
